Everything you need to know about building the Westview Horizon at Old Sorrel Heights in Cedar City.

What changed in the updated Horizon plan?

The July 2026 revision grew the Horizon to 4,008 sq ft (2,017 on the main level and 1,991 in the walkout basement), added a third garage bay for an 891 sq ft garage, and replaced the lower-level wet bar with a full kitchenette. Bedrooms stay at 4 and bathrooms at 3.5.

Can the walkout level work as an in-law suite?

It is built for it. The walkout level has its own kitchenette, living area, three bedrooms, two full baths and a covered patio, with full-size windows and a door to the yard. Ask about a separate exterior entrance during your design consultation.

How long does it take to build a new construction home in Cedar City?

Most AJ Caplin Custom Homes builds take roughly 3 to 4 months from the start of foundation work to move-in. The timeline varies with customizations and finish selections.

Can I customize the Westview Horizon floor plan?

Absolutely. The Horizon is a proven starting point, and AJ Caplin Custom Homes tailors each home to the family building it. Layout tweaks, a larger deck, an outdoor kitchen, upgraded windows and interior finish changes are all welcome.

Are the outdoor patios and landscaping included?

The covered deck and walkout patio drawn on the plan are part of the home. Additional finished patio surfaces, extended hardscape, walkways and an outdoor kitchen are optional add-ons priced during design. Your yard's landscaping is fully customizable. We plan it with you during your consultation.

What is included in the base price?
